Our three year strategy for 2023-2026 reflects the challenging context of growing up in London today. Whilst London is an extraordinary city, it is also going through major change, growth and uncertainty.
Our vision is that all young Londoners grow up healthy, able to express themselves, navigate a fulfilling career and make a positive contribution in their communities
How we make change -
We work with community youth organisations – supporting them to thrive and offer high quality youth work
So that we can -
Increase opportunity for young Londoners most likely to miss out - those from low income backgrounds and young people of colour
And change the system by -
Demanding change in the policy and funding environment and showing the impact youth work can have
Drive opportunity for those young Londoners who need us the most. Improve access to opportunities through excellent programmes delivered with local youth organisations.
Tackle structural inequality by prioritising young people of colour and young people from low-income backgrounds.
Increase the scale and depth of young people's involvement and leadership in the youth sector.
Introduce a learning and reflecting cycle; making the time to really understand our evidence, our effectiveness and then adapt and improve.
Respond to the changing needs of our young people and members - piloting new programmes and incubating promising models that could be replicated.
Inspire stakeholders to action by making clear the stark inequalities in experience, provision and access affecting young Londoners.
Develop youth organisations and lead the sector into a sustainable future. Lead the sector with credibility and integrity and provide an exceptional data-driven offer of workforce and organisational development for members. Drive the changes we need by leading and contributing to equitable collaborations. Amplify the voice of the youth sector and our position as London Youth, by making the case with and for young Londoners.
Inspire young Londoners with outdoor adventure and trips away from home. Deliver, Tackle, Lead, Increase and Set the long-term vision for each of our centres, so that they are fit for purpose into the future and can deliver to young people.
Build a progressive, inclusive organisation where we all thrive. Attract and retain great team members by creating a diverse, cohesive and inclusive community that is truly representative of the Londoners we work with.
Enhance our capabilities. Connect our data to obtain a full picture of our interaction with members. Improve our management of corporate volunteering and resourcing. Deepen our understanding about the actions needed to work towards becoming carbon neutral.
